"Breakin Water", We came up with her name because my wife was pregnant with our first child and we didn't know who was going to be born first.  My boat won by 2 weeks.  I built her myself and the year was 1997.

The hull is a Flyin High hull, Flyin High Speed Skiffs are owned by myself and my partner Jim Buturla. I believe the hull was originally a Russell.

Jim and I decided, after being tossed out at 2 different races within a month that the sport had some real safety issues. While at the Red Bank Race Jim and I spoke with Tony Scartine about installing a safety cage. That winter we created a safety cage for our skiff. We started off race season 1991 with our device and found it to be the best thing we ever did. Four
years later APBA made it mandatory for all race skiffs to have them...

Nothing "girlie" about the engine.  I found a 1964 Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser sitting in a storage lot.  The boat was crumbling, but when I opened the hatch to see the engine, I was in HEAVEN.  The motor was in tack and the parts were all original...I HAD to buy the whole package in order to get the sweet 283 stock Chevy engine.  It was quite funny hauling that dilapidated boat out of that storage yard, but well worth it in the long run.
