HOLLYWOOD STAR JS-58 was the first skiff built on the West cost maybe west of the Mississippi from a J&S mold by Mike Leach in Orange County in Southern Calif.  It was one of 4 built out there. It was built in February
1984 and was bought by me for $5,000.00 with all the hardware less Engine and the prop and raced its first race at Irvine Lake with Jack Lawrence's JS-100 SNOW GOOSE in March 1984.

The photo at the left was provided by Julian Rucki, taken at Lake Merrit in Oakland, CA in 1984. The mold for Hollywood Star was sold and is now in Florida.

The boat is presently raced in APBA and is called Bound for Glory. It is owned by Bill Sewell and is kept in Maryland.
